The Physician's Lecture and a Potential Apprentice

 Journal Entry: June 13, 2026

Location: Port Olni / Nature Collective

Mood/Title: The Physician's Lecture and a Potential Apprentice

The morning began outside the familiar strictures of Gor, as I traveled to the Nature Collective with my friend Russell. I brought Sheena along, giving her explicit permission to step away from her slave protocols for the morning, explore freely, and enjoy the scenery. Russell was using his Italian translator to keep comfortable, and together we admired the beautiful views and architecture. Our exploration took a brief, chaotic turn when an attempt to investigate "Dracula's house" resulted in us being abruptly ejected from the parcel—a rather refreshing and leap-filled surprise! Undeterred, we tried a different path, navigating a dusty maze and even trying out a shimmering mirror teleporter before real life called Russell away with a warm goodbye.

By late afternoon, I returned to Port Olni and set up the classroom for the 4 PM cycle of The Circle, debuting our major lecture: "The War Against Death – The Physicians, The Serums, and The Truce." Because I had neglected to post early reminders, the initial turnout was light, but a booming town-crier announcement brought a formidable group to the cushions, including Captain Falconer McKeenan, Scribes Arealius and Ana Barbosa, and the warrior Thunder Wulfguard with his bond-girl Levina.

The session was incredibly rich, charting the meritocratic layers of the green robes—from the seven-year dissections required of Apprentices to the terrifying public health oversight wielded by the Archiater. We mapped the genetic and cellular mechanics of the Stabilization Serums (Telomeric Arrest, Metabolic Baseline optimization, Immune Array fortification, and the Genetic Lock) and debated the immense demographic, generational, and social stratification this technology creates on Gor. We also analyzed the rigid jurisprudence of the Physician's Truce, which allows healers to cross enemy lines unarmed to perform equal triage based entirely on clinical severity, and parsed the state's dangerous organic pharmacopeia, including Kanda neurotoxins and the broad-spectrum antidote Sul Pith. The introductions went beautifully, though letting the students thoroughly present themselves took a solid twenty minutes out of my standard lecture window, forcing me to distribute the remaining curriculum link for their private scrolls before we adjourned.

The evening brought a very pleasant surprise on my front porch. A free woman named Kara Mantha stopped by for blackwine and shared that she is heavily considering transitioning from the Physician Caste back into the Scribes, with a specific interest in legal advocacy or clerkship. We discussed her past training under Lucy, and I offered to take her on as my personal Apprentice Scribe, which she accepted with great enthusiasm. I directed her to send official requests to our Caste leaders, Sho and Ana Barbosa, and she even gifted me a copy of her previous "Lesson 4" scrolls so I can evaluate her baseline.

While we were talking, I dispatched Sheena to fetch Jamie McColley from the docks, who had unfortunately misread the calendar time zones and missed the 4 PM session entirely. We sat together on the porch, and I reassured Jamie that the foundational lectures she missed—including those on the Gates and Cylinders from the College of Lara—will cycle back to Olni in a few weeks once my chart updates are complete. Exhausted from a long but fulfilling day on a mere four hours of sleep, I bid my guests and my little treasure a warm night before heading out.

To Do:

  • Contact Ana Barbosa to advocate for Kara Mantha's official transfer into the Scribe Caste as my apprentice.

  • Review the "Lesson 4" course notes provided by Kara to draft her introductory training regimen.

  • Format the foundational visual charts for the upcoming Gates and Cylinders makeup lectures.

  • Finalize the public health logs and student credit registries for those who attended the "War Against Death" lecture.

  • Configure the new phone completely and finish syncing the remaining journal planner applications.
