Arrival and Introductions
You and your father, Captain Wind, arrived at the lush, scenic lands of Blodfjellet Fjord so you could stretch your legs and he could scout a potential new home for his mercenary company. On the path, you encountered a Northman named Rune Thorkveld. Though Rune claimed to only be visiting to repair some oarlocks, he offered to guide you both up the steep climb to the settlement's great hall.
The Great Hall and The Message
Upon reaching the top, you entered a massive, lavishly built long hall that deeply impressed both you and your father. Rune pointed out a drop box near the entrance, and you successfully deposited your father's written request for the hold's Jarl regarding land rentals for the mercenary company.
Mead and Conversation
The three of you settled at a table and were soon attended to by a cheerful bond named Treat, who served everyone horns of mead.
The Veil: Treat politely whispered that you were free to remove your hood and veil if you wished, as there is no shame in doing so in Torvaldsland. However, when you asked your father for permission, he instructed you to leave them on.
Discipline Discussion: Your father used the downtime to ask Rune for a second opinion on a recent incident in Talis, questioning whether he overreacted by wanting to run through a slave who stubbornly refused to avert her gaze. Rune shared a different approach, explaining that he sometimes prefers a slave to look him in the eyes and usually favors more inventive punishments over immediate execution.
Departure
Satisfied with the excellent mead and the scouting trip, your father announced your departure. You both exchanged respectful farewells with Rune and Treat before safely teleporting back to Port Talis.

[07:34] Rune Thorkveld had emerged from the woodland onto what proved to be a single track pathway, he grunted as his usually insociable self was forced to greet those coming the other way "Greetings, thanks, I guess. He nodded, though whether it was in understanding or appreciation of the woman - it would be hard to tell "Good as place as any to do that" he chuckled "No, I'm also visiting. If you -do- find the hold Jarl to give him that card - make an appointment for me. Merc company eh? Bit far north for that isn't it? You have business up this way?" he asked the man, now intrigued if there was blood to be spillin' nearby.

"I've not a clue my newest friend." he held a hand aloft "I'm visiting the nearest place to repair some oarlocks, and thankfully, I've left most of my family at least, at home, where they belong, out of my way, and out of my ear." He shrugged."I've it quite ....peaceful here actually. Only thing I've seen so far is a chunky little bond."

[07:54] Rune Thorkveld considered a moment, then reached out a huge paw and reciprocated. "Some call me Rune, some call me Tundra." he replied. "Rune is such a stupid name for a northman don't you agree?" He chuckled. "Parents must have been on the mead when they decided that one. Well met Wind" he shrugged. "Weather is as it does. Must always mind the changing of the seasons up these ways. I have come by a few times, yes. Friendly enough At least, haven't seen any axes whirling yet."

"It is" he agreed with her, and then continued his conversation with the man "Suppose most should be at their daily toil nowabouts, but if we find the hall, that'll be a good start. Should be at the highest point I 'd have thought. You up for the climb?"

Pushing the doors open she stepped within and used her bottom to push them closed again. With a deep breath, one day she really will learn not to stack her arms so high with wood. Taking the steps one at a time and with care not to fall or spill the wood and make a ruckus down the steps. Treat moved gingerly with those hips swaying until she reached the wooden floor of the common room. A brow lifted when she heard an unfamiliar voice, immediately Treat crouched and unladed all the wood to the central fire. Will disperse it later. Lifting back to her feet while brushing off her kirtle, that award winning smile upon her features "Greetings Jarl, Greetings Mistress" Greeting each of the men in turn "Have you been served yet,?"

There was quiet rumble of a grunt, that Treat would have felt more than heard, and then he took the horn from her, pushing her off to serve Kati with a swat to her ass. "I feel we should make absolutely sure we're of the same mind Wind, it will take us a few to be certain no doubt" he raised the horn in Winds direction, downed the lot in a couple of gulps, and was already holding it out to be refilled before Kati had gotten her glass

His eyes narrowed slightly, placing a bet with himself that those covering were going to stay in place regardless of Treats entreaty to remove them. There was a wriggle of heavy brows when she asked permission, and Rune waited impatiently for the answer. He shifted slightly on the bench, leg stretching out from beneath and he tapped his thigh for Treat to take a perch, while they waited to see if those peeking red tresses would be let loose

Loud enough for his ear alone. Listening to the mans voice and his take on the question, Treat could only smile. Reasons for such, were her own but if asked, Treat agreed with Rune. That is all. Hearing those two words, she chuckled softly but when she saw the pair getting up, she nodded to them both, respectfully of course "Odins Blessings to you both, wish you a safe journey" the smile only brightened a little more "I will be sure to tell him, Jarl"
