Opening Day at the Turmus Grand Merchant Fair

 Journal Entry: July 25, 2026

Location: Olni & Turmus

Mood/Title: Opening Day at the Turmus Grand Merchant Fair

Started the day getting dressed in Olni and making sure my outfits and veils were set before teleporting over to Turmus for opening day of the Grand Merchant Fair. I spent time at the Educational Hall (Building #25) reorganizing the schedule board and checking over my class notes. My girl Layla was unwell, so I arranged with Cheryl and Jean to step in and help keep the hall tidy while she recovers.

Out on the fairgrounds, the city was bustling with merchants and visitors. Kaellaed Rhode and I caught up near the booths to discuss his upcoming presentation on Merchant Law and Civil Law, as well as my presentation on Advanced Gorean Economics. Later, I joined Ramius, Lady Carola, Ubara Selia, Captain Alen, Andros Mosely, and several others at the main pavilion for the official opening of Merchant Row. We listened to announcements about the fair schedule, upcoming skald stories, and a panther skill demonstration outside the gates. Spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through the market stalls, admiring the decorated booths, and checking in with Carola as more traders arrived to fill the remaining stalls.

To Do:

  • Attend Kaellaed's presentation on Merchant Law tomorrow at 6:30 PM SLT.

  • Finalize materials for my presentation "The Merchant's Ledger: Advanced Gorean Economics" at the Merchant Academy on Monday.

  • Check on Layla and see how Cheryl and Jean are doing with cleaning the Educational Hall.

Scribe Archives in Turmus & Early Morning Exchanges

 Journal Entry: July 24, 2026

Location: Turmus & Olni

Mood/Title: Scribe Archives in Turmus & Early Morning Exchanges

Spent time early in the morning in Turmus at the Scribe Hall working through the city records and registry archives. I reviewed several blank forms and citizen registration documents, including files from last year and recent updates for this summer's arrivals.

While resting over blackwine, Lady Carola joined me to discuss Gorean fortune tellers and look over some book references and historical perspectives. A visiting traveler, Serkan (佐藤海人 Kaitō Satō), wandered into the Educational Hall to look around. After inspecting our blackwine teapot, he offered Carola a splash of cognac from his flask—a gesture she politely declined before handing him an invitation to the Grand Merchant Fair starting tomorrow.

Later in the morning, I traveled between shopping spots to pick up a few new clothing items and accessories before returning to Olni to organize my inventory and review the transcripts sent over by Trygg for the recent Scribe Caste meeting.

To Do:

  • Finalize preparations for the Turmus Grand Merchant Fair opening tomorrow (July 25th).

  • Review class materials for the upcoming "Free vs. Bond" discussion on Tuesday, July 28th.

  • Check in on the Educational Hall setup before the fair crowds arrive.

Teaching "Slave Discipline" in Turmus & Thursday Games in Olni

 Journal Entry: July 23, 2026

Location: Turmus & Olni

Mood/Title: Teaching "Slave Discipline" in Turmus & Thursday Games in Olni

Started the day in Turmus preparing for my lecture and gathering notes at the Educational Hall. Late morning, I joined Lady Odette, Willow, Sabayna, and Pionika for a Free Woman dance meeting. We caught up on dance troupe news, tried out Geisha fan dances from Abranimations, and discussed upcoming performances for the Sheen troupe at Isfahan and Thunder Mountain.

At 4:00 PM SLT, I hosted my class on "The Rights and Framework of Slave Discipline" in building #25. We had a wonderful turnout, including Ubara Selia, Advocate Aries, Slaver Nicholas Eel, ThunderBolt Kanto, and several kajirae. We covered the legal and cultural distinction between public city stock and private property, corrective protocols, hair shearing laws, and historical perspectives from John Norman's scrolls.

After class wrapped up, I headed over to Olni for Thursday game night with Lance. Brooke and Carmen joined us for a few lively rounds of Hand and Foot Canasta. We chatted about Olni life and upcoming Tuesday tavern dances before calling it a night.

To Do:

  • Prepare for the Turmus Merchant Fair (July 25th – August 1st) and check out the decorated market stalls.

  • Prepare materials for the next discussion class: "Free vs. Bond" scheduled for Tuesday, July 28th.

  • Follow up with Lady Selia regarding city announcements for future Educational Hall sessions.

⊰════════════════════════════⊱

Lecture Notes: The Rights and Framework of Slave Discipline

  • Event Type: Educational Hall Lecture & Discussion

  • Location: Educational Hall (Building #25), Turmus

  • Instructor: Lady Kati Evans

  • Attendees: Ubara Selia (violet325), Advocate Aries Marchese (d3athmak3r3), Slaver Nicholas Eel, ThunderBolt Kanto, Lady Carola, Lady Iona, Trygg Tyran, Cheryl (cherylsue.snoodle), Amalia (amaliajimenez), Jean (jean1), Darla/Aurora (darlagraysun), Lora (hannalora), Mel (melanie.fiddlesticks), Uli Roff, and others.

Key Presentation & Discussion Points:

  • Purpose of Discipline:

    • Discipline maintains civic order and proper protocol; a slave's behavior reflects on the entire city and their owner's honor.

    • Correction is non-malicious and intended to restore alertness and deference.

  • Public Stock vs. Private Property:

    • Public Stock: Any free citizen has the right to correct public city slaves immediately on the spot for protocol breaches.

    • Private Property: Free citizens may issue commands and deliver minor, non-damaging physical reminders (such as a reprimand or quick slap) to private slaves who fail to yield or show proper honorifics.

    • Property Restitution: Free citizens must never permanently injure, brand, or destroy another citizen's private property. Severe infractions must be handled by the owner or brought to the Magistrate's Court.

  • Hair Shearing Laws:

    • It is strictly illegal under Gorean commercial law to cut a slave's hair without the owner's explicit permission, as hair represents substantial commercial asset value. Unauthorized shearing constitutes property destruction requiring full financial restitution.

  • Graduated Correction Levels:

    • Minor: Verbal reprimand, slap, repeating protocol for missed greetings or posture slips.

    • Moderate: Temporary placement in public stocks or binding at the city gates for public disturbances or slacking on errands.

    • Severe: Scourging, branding, or referral to hard labor (e.g., Salt Mines of Klima) for runaways, theft, or treason.

 Journal Entry: July 16, 2026

Location: Olni

Mood/Title: Thursday Game Night & Learning Hand and Foot

Spent the evening in Olni joining Lance, Jasa, Freya, Hawke, Liyin, Ayita, and Kazi for our weekly Thursday game night. We gathered around the tables to play a few rounds of Greedy Greedy first. Lance won the second game with 10,150 points after some very lucky rolls.

Afterward, Lance helped walk me through the rules of Hand and Foot Canasta. He explained the basics of drawing, sorting, making sets with wild cards (2s and jokers), and properly discarding. Once we got into the rhythm of the game, I really enjoyed it and even managed to go out a couple of times! It was a fun, relaxing way to spend the evening with friends.

To Do:

  • Practice Hand and Foot Canasta rules for next week's game night.

A very long and event-filled day. Started out early morning in Olni catching up on house details and visiting with Lady Odette. We teleported briefly to Thunder Mountain for the 8:00 AM Scribe Apprentice Class, but found the schedule had shifted to 9:00 AM due to region restarts. We waited in the lounge with Kat Antoninus and Lady Wynna Aonifall until class began. Marcus Aurelius Antoninus led a structured session on teaching methodologies, Scribe Caste objectives, and document verification protocols.

After class, I traveled to Turmus to meet with Lady Carola and Ubara Selia. Carola took me to see the cheese stall and showed me the High Caste booths she set up for the upcoming Grand Merchant Fair. I gave her feedback on the caste banner order, and we talked more about my proposal to set up a schoolhouse in Turmus at building #25.

Returned to Olni in the afternoon to attend the monthly Ladies Tea hosted by Lady Talora at the gallery. We had a great turnout, including Jasmine (Captain of Warriors from Tharna), Lady Vixen, and several visiting guests. • Review the 8 components of effective lesson planning discussed in Marcus's class.

 Journal Entry: July 13, 2026

Location: Turmus & Olni

Mood/Title: School Site Scouting in Turmus & Scribe Mentoring with Kara

Spent the morning in Turmus looking over potential locations to set up a school. Met with Lady Selia to share my idea of bringing Scribe Caste instruction and classes to Turmus, specifically eyeing building #25 as a potential schoolhouse. Selia was very supportive and passed along contact details for Kelli, their Head of Caste, so I can send over a formal proposal for approval.

Returned to Olni in the afternoon to mentor Kara, who has recently transitioned from the Physician Caste to the Scribe Caste. We sat down together alongside Layla to go over the fundamentals of the Blue Caste—discussing modesty standards (like proper footwear/tights while traveling), record-keeping duties, seals, and impartiality. Handed over a stack of basic city forms for her to review. Layla also passed along new library scrolls she organized today. Ended the day early after Kara stepped away for dinner.

To Do:

  • Draft and send a formal proposal to Kelli (kellygr5) regarding the proposed schoolhouse at building #25 in Turmus.

  • Prepare materials for tomorrow's three discussion sessions on "Art of the Bow."

  • Review the new library scrolls handed over by Layla.

Mood/Title: A Day of Shopping, Visits in Turmus, and the Festival of Steel

Spent part of the morning in Turmus walking around the city streets and visiting with Lady Selia. We chatted about the city's growth, the upcoming Merchant Fair, and my new room at the Wander Inn. Later on, Commander Augustus Bade and Lady Ella dropped by with Ducky and Amalia, and Advocate Aries joined us as well. We ended up having a long, pleasant conversation about family, traveling ways, and city life before I headed back home.

Falconer McKeenan hosted the matches while fighters like Shlam, Magni, Boogie, Lazerus, Amyr, Khronos, Paul, Eridain, and Ezio fought through several intense rounds of sword practice. Khronos ended up taking 1st place, with Killian taking 2nd, Ezio taking 3rd, and Shlam winning the Last Man Standing round. Morning Blackwine & Friday CTF with Greedy Greedy

 Journal Entry: July 10, 2026

Location: Turmus & Olni

Mood/Title: Morning Blackwine & Friday CTF with Greedy Greedy

Spent a lovely early morning visiting Turmus and sharing blackwine at Odette Atheria's place alongside Lady Cherry Audax. We had a great discussion about city activity levels, veiling customs for guests, and potential venues for future meetings of the Free Woman's Dance Circle, including the possibility of hosting a gathering in Olni or finding dedicated build space in Turmus. Later, Lady Selia showed me around the Wander Inn and graciously reserved a cozy guest room for me whenever I visit.

In the late afternoon, I returned to Olni to join in the Friday Capture the Flag (CTF) games. Switched over to my bow setup and joined the Blue team alongside Jarek, Huntsy, Tura, and others for some intense, fast-paced rounds against Red team. We ended up with a super close 7-to-7 match! Afterwards, Lance, Lady Fine, and I gathered around the table to play a few games of Greedy Greedy. I managed to win one game with a high score of 10,100 points and unlocked a few achievements before Lance edged out a win in the final round. Wrapped up the night after a full day of archery and dice games.

To Do:

  • Check veiling laws and potential location options in Olni for hosting a future Dance Circle gathering.

  • Practice bow aiming and WASD movement keys for upcoming CTF matches.

Mood/Title: The Free Woman's Dance Circle in Turmus

Traveled to Turmus this morning for a meeting of The Free Woman's Dance Circle at the palace, hosted by Lady Odette Atheria and Lady Selia, the Ubara. Cassian Leoric and Aries Marchese provided protection at the stairs while Adira guided us to the meeting space. We discussed dance set concepts, including ideas for a children's bedroom dance scene, and reviewed group colors (pinks, rose, burgundy, and beige) and basic wardrobe recommendations. Odette shared gift boxes containing dance streamers and fans, and we spent time dancing together on the markers before heading down to the city streets.

On our way through Turmus, we bumped into Dexter Winters, Cassian, and Lady Selia, having a brief conversation about Panner's storytelling visits, city dynamics, and mutual acquaintances. Afterward, I returned to Olni to do a little outfit shopping and catch up on tasks. Later in the afternoon, Lance invited me to learn Hand and Foot or play Greedy Greedy once I finished dinner.

To Do:

  • Try out the dance streamers and recolor the dance fans received in Turmus.

Scribe Summit Preparations in Lara

 Journal Entry: July 8, 2026

Location: City of Lara & Olni

Mood/Title: Scribe Summit Preparations in Lara

Spent the early morning setting up my new to-do list system at home in Olni before heading over to the City of Lara for the bi-weekly Scribe Caste of Gor (SCoG) meeting. We had a remarkably well-attended meeting chaired by Trygg Tyran.

The primary order of business was resolving the location for the upcoming Scribe Summit. Following recent developments and safety concerns at Var-Kor, Myriam proposed moving the event to Thunder Mountain upon Sir Marcus’s invitation. The assembly voted in favor of the relocation. We also discussed speaker scheduling, noting that Skylar Bahram will present on her apprentice program and that additional volunteer speakers are being gathered. Skylar also shared that the newly rebuilding city (formerly Var-Kor) is actively seeking a Head of Caste.

After the meeting wrapped up, I took some time to browse furniture shops, picking up a few items from the Conquistador and Renaissance Faire sets for my space. Returned to Olni to check in on local activities before calling it an early evening.

To Do:

  • Follow up on the revised promotional posters and schedule for the Scribe Summit at Thunder Mountain.

  • Review notes for next Tuesday's discussion topic.

Class Updates, Scribe Academy & An Evening Off

 Journal Entry: July 7, 2026

Location: Thunder Mountain & Olni

Mood/Title: Class Updates, Scribe Academy & An Evening Off

Started the morning updating my class signs in Olni, dropping "The Circle" in favor of "Kati Evans' Class Board" and tweaking the descriptions to make navigation smoother. Layla and I had a nice fashion show displaying her new outfit before we headed over to Thunder Mountain to attend the Apprentice Scribe Class at 8:00 AM SLT, taught by Skylar Bahram. It was a very thorough session covering the core duties, codes, and historical weight of the Blue Caste.

After returning to Olni, I made a quick deposit of 3 silver and 13 copper at the bank before catching up with Falconer McKeenan, Ledia, Eridain, and Aisha out near the gates. Falconer mentioned the strange visitor from earlier, and we talked briefly about Captain Wind's longhouse and checking in on family.

In the evening, Layla and I sat out at my class area for the 7:00 PM SLT discussion time slot. With most residents across the river enjoying tavern night, no students arrived for this session, allowing us to turn in early and rest up for tomorrow's SCoG meeting in Lara.

To Do:

  • Attend the Scribe Caste of Gor (SCoG) meeting tomorrow at 8:00 AM SLT in Lara with Layla.

  • Complete the 50-word summary homework assignment for Skylar's Scribe Class.

  • Continue preparing materials for next week's discussion session.

A Trip to Venna & Archery Practice with Falconer

 Journal Entry: July 6, 2026

Location: Venna City & Olni

Mood/Title: A Trip to Venna & Archery Practice with Falconer

Started the day taking care of house prims and updating my class board layout to clearly display class details and locations. Layla received a carrier scroll confirming the OOC Kajiri class at The Institute in Venna, so we teleported over to attend. The class was taught by Sterre, covering the legal and roleplay definitions of Gorean slavery. Afterward, Lady Vixen gave us a detailed tour of Venna City, showcasing the merchant strip, high caste housing, warrior quarters, administration building, and the lovely gardens.

Later in the evening, I met up with Falconer McKeenan to practice with my bow and arrow setup. I switched my meter gender to male and learned how to configure the WASD movement keys and mouselook aiming. Falconer gave me a solid workout on the field, capturing me in a few practice rounds and reminding me why archers need to keep their distance from incoming swordsmen. Anisa dropped by to chat and tease, and we ended up opening up about past roleplay experiences, including my capture RP from last year and my connection to Captain Wind and the Silver Blades. Finished the night depositing 10 silver at the Olni bank before heading in.

To Do:

  • Host Class 2: "Art of the Bow" discussion series at 7:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 7:00 PM SLT.

  • Practice WASD movement and mouselook aiming ahead of Friday's Capture the Flag match.

  • Review notes and details regarding the upcoming bi-weekly SCoG (Scribe Caste of Gor) meeting on Wednesday.

  • Location: The Institute / Venna City

  • Teacher: Sterre (alliana.mantis)

  • Tour Guide: Vixen Gates-SpiritWeaver (alexandrachawwa)

  • Attendees: Lady Kati Evans, Layla (khawali.kiyori), Tura (jalanihermosa), Tristan Gates-SpiritWeaver, Liv (livolssen), Waffles (nefes.moonchild), Noa, Kaid Stormcloud-Gates, Ronmag, Avon Stormcloud-Maze, and other participants.

Key Class Topics (What is a Slave in Gor):

  • Roleplay Context: Emphasized that Gorean slavery RP is grounded in cultural, legal, and structural immersion within agreed RP/OOC boundaries, strictly distinct from OOC compulsion.

  • Absolute Status: In Gorean law, status is binary—either Free or property. A slave legally owns nothing, has no citizen rights, and bears a lowercase name assigned by their owner.

  • Legal Requirements: Full legal slavery requires both a collar and a brand.

  • Paths to Enslavement:

    • Capture in war or city raids / Barbarian status (Terran women).

    • Couching Law (sleeping with another person's slave).

    • Debt default (personal or family financial liabilities).

    • Voluntary or forced submission to a warrior.

  • Core Expectations & Presentation: Slave training rests on obedience, service, status awareness, and presentation (kneeling, speech, behavior), which directly reflects on the owner's honor and standing.

Venna City Tour Highlights:

  • Docks & Trade Hub: Features trade discussion areas and newsstands for The Vennian Vine.

  • Merchant Strip Alka: Includes local shops (baker, tanner, woodworker, instrument maker, inn, blacksmith).

Jarek echoed the sentiment, noting that "you get what you accept" and encouraging men to lead with strength and respect.

    • Revitalizing Old Gor & Olni's Vision: Falconer challenged the group to actively build Olni's story and create immersive roleplay rather than waiting passively for events. Discussion covered enforcing local customs, engaging strangers at the gates, and maintaining consequences.

    • Interpretation of "By the Books" (BTB): Falconer explained that while ancient scrolls serve as a guide, regional variety, personal history, and logical cultural extensions enrich the world. Jarek highlighted the balance between maintaining a realistic, grounded BTB environment and accommodating diverse RP styles within a port city context.

    • Roleplay Initiatives: Layla suggested incorporating tarn nests and tarn captures for training and raid preparation. Lady Fine discussed using storytelling and interactive approaches to engage newer residents.

Fourth of July Festivities & Old Friends

Journal Entry: July 4, 2026

Location: Olni Shore / Colorado

Mood/Title: Fourth of July Festivities & Old Friends

Spent part of the morning catching up with Russell after a while, hearing about his travels and new plans. We barely had time to chat before a rather chaotic little western holdup broke out at the local bank, making for quite an amusing morning spectacle.

Later in the afternoon, I headed down to Olni Shore for the grand Fourth of July celebration hosted by Falconer McKeenan. It was a wonderful gathering by the water with commercial-free classic rock playing, sparklers to share, and plenty of good conversation. We spent a good deal of time reminiscing about old music formats—cassettes, 8-tracks, and precious vinyl records—alongside memories of high school and places like Alaska and New York. As evening fell, we watched the fireworks light up the sky together before saying our goodnights and heading home.

Exploring Thunder Mountain & Old Acquaintances

 Journal Entry: July 3, 2026

Location: Thunder Mountain & Olni

Mood/Title: Exploring Thunder Mountain & Old Acquaintances

Spent some time exploring Thunder Mountain early this morning to look around their academy and city grounds, grabbing a few information scrolls regarding their laws and scribe apprentice schedule. While there, I ran into Lady Wynna Wrexan, late of Var-Kor. She shared that Var-Kor is completely gone and empty now, which was surprising to hear. We spoke about our history as magistrates, training under Lady Janet years ago, and the possibility of teaching at the academy.

Later on, Kat Antoninus and Sheila dropped by while Kat was starting to move the welcome center. Kat invited me to look around further, but I was still feeling a bit groggy and tired from my medical procedure yesterday, so I stepped away to rest. Logged back in briefly during the evening to check on region connections before calling it a night.

To Do:

  • Decide over the weekend whether to accept the teaching opportunity at Thunder Mountain.

  • Follow up with Kara regarding the teaching/mentoring role.

  • Continue refining class plans for Olni.

Started the day taking care of various tasks around the house and sorting through new clothing and animation settings. Watching the warriors go through five rounds of individual spars and team matches was quite exciting.
