Journal Entry: April 17, 2026 Location: City of Lara / Fjord Title: Adjustments and Alignments
Today was productive in terms of getting settled, both in my surroundings and in my professional responsibilities. I spent a good portion of the day in Lara, working closely with the local administration and the College to ensure that my transition into this new role is seamless. It is a relief to be in an environment where the administrative standards are taken seriously; there is a certain professional satisfaction in ensuring that the paperwork, the scheduling, and the general organization of the Academy are handled with the precision they deserve.
Father has been very hands-on with our living arrangements here in Lara, which is both a help and a testament to his protective nature. We have been carefully selecting pieces for our home, focusing on creating a space that feels right—something comfortable, private, and worthy of our standing. He is as meticulous about our home as he is about his merc company, and I find that having his input allows me to focus more on my own tasks, particularly the educational ones. I also had the opportunity to speak with a number of colleagues about the state of our caste and the importance of maintaining our standards, even when we find ourselves in regions that may not share our dedication to "By the Book" traditions. It is clear that we have a responsibility to lead by example, and I intend to do just that in my teaching.
I am feeling the fatigue of these past few days of travel and constant adjustments, but the work is settling into a rhythm. My eyes are weary tonight—I suspect the late hours and the constant attention to detail are taking their toll—but I am content with the progress we have made.
To Do:
Coordinate with Niran regarding the final furniture placement for the new home; I want to ensure the workspace and the living area feel distinct yet cohesive.
Continue the meticulous cataloging of the Academy library; maintaining a pristine archive is the cornerstone of our academic reputation.
Review the lecture plan for the "War of the Thassa" session once more; I want to ensure the historical accuracy of our naval strategy discussion.
Attend to the begonias; despite the travel, they seem to be holding up well, which is a small but welcome victory for the day.
