The Quiet Resolve of the Scribe

Title: The Quiet Resolve of the Scribe

Another day of the "Thing" has passed, and the festival's relentless energy continues to hum in the background, a stark contrast to the disciplined, scholarly focus I maintain within my own walls. While the others lose themselves in the pageantry, the games, and the superficial displays of strength, I find a deeper, more enduring satisfaction in the quiet labor of the Scribe’s Hall. There is a profound honesty in the work I do—the maintenance of records, the preparation of materials, and the careful curation of our history. It is the only true defense against the entropy that seems to plague the lesser homes in this region.

I have spent time today ensuring the "Circle" project is not just a passing interest, but a robust educational foundation. My girl, Sheena, continues to prove herself capable and observant, and I am finding that her presence actually aids my own focus; she is learning that our household is a sanctuary of order. Even when the world outside—and the digital representations of it—flips from one version to the next, as fragile as a flickering screen, the principles we uphold in Olni remain. I will not be distracted by the latest "Thing" or the latest, fleeting fascination of the crowd. I am here to build a legacy of law and knowledge, and that is a task that transcends any festival or temporary alliance.

To Do:

  • [ ] Finalize the administrative records for the upcoming Magistrate’s review—no detail is too small to be recorded with precision.

  • [ ] Continue the training of Sheena; she must be prepared for the higher standards required in the Magistrate's office.

  • [ ] Monitor the city’s political movements, particularly those involving our allies and the influx of newcomers; I must know who is who.

  • [ ] Rest. Discipline requires a sharp mind, and I will not permit the fatigue of the festival to dull my edge.
