A Cycle of Work and Rest

Journal Entry: April 27, 2026 Location: City of Lara / The Fjord Title: A Cycle of Work and Rest

The days have taken on a steady, repetitive quality that I find strangely comforting. Today, I found myself managing the small details of our life in Lara—overseeing the final touches on our new space, ensuring that the necessary tools for our comfort were in place, and maintaining the connections that hold our small community together. It is remarkable how much effort is required to maintain a sense of order when the environment is constantly shifting. Between the logistical work in Lara and the retreat to the Fjord, I am finding a balance that allows me to remain productive while also having the space to gather my thoughts.

I have been focusing on making our new home not just a place of residence, but a proper base for our operations. It is not enough to simply exist in these spaces; one must shape them, define them, and make them reflect the standards we hold. I have been coordinating with those who manage our logistics, ensuring that the paperwork and the physical environment are aligned with our needs. It is meticulous work, and at times, it feels like we are constantly reacting to the environment rather than shaping it, but persistence is key.

My focus remains on the Academy and my duties as a Magistrate. Even with the uncertainty of the current political climate—the rumors, the shifting allegiances, and the erratic behavior of those who do not understand the weight of their choices—I am committed to my path. I find that when I center myself in my responsibilities, the noise of the outside world fades into the background.

To Do:

  • Finalize the organizational plan for the Academy's library; keeping our knowledge base pristine is the best defense against external chaos.

  • Prepare for the next set of classes; I want to ensure my students have a clear understanding of the principles we are discussing.

  • Continue the care of the begonias; the current spot on the balcony seems to be working, and they are a vital touch of life in a world of steel and stone.

  • Maintain a professional and watchful eye on the administrative tasks in Lara; consistency is the only way to ensure the long-term success of our endeavors.
