OOC NOTICE TO ALL PLAYERS OF PORT TALIS
To preserve an immersive, respectful, and drama‑free environment for everyone, we ask all participants to observe the following expectations:
IC conflict must remain strictly IC
Gorean roleplay thrives on tension, dominance, rivalry, and power dynamics. These elements enrich the story, as long as they stay within character. IC actions should never be interpreted as personal attacks.
OOC conflict will not be tolerated
Personal disputes, hostility, or arguments outside of character disrupt the community and damage the experience for everyone. If an issue arises, bring it to a moderator rather than engaging in OOC confrontation.
Do not allow OOC feelings to influence IC behavior
Your character’s choices should reflect their motivations, not your personal frustrations or emotions. Mixing the two creates unnecessary tension and derails storylines.
Remember: there are real people behind every character
While we strive for Gorean roleplay that is as “by the book” as possible, there is a fine line between immersive conflict and pushing a scene too far. When RP crosses into territory that feels personal, uncomfortable, or emotionally charged beyond what someone consented to, it stops being good roleplay.
Respect boundaries. Check in when scenes escalate. If someone expresses discomfort, listen
Know the difference between Gorean intensity and OOC harm
Gor is harsh, but our community is not. Scenes should challenge characters, not players. If you are unsure whether a direction is appropriate, pause and communicate OOC before continuing.
