Mood/Title: Scribe Meetings and Library Progress
Attended the bi-weekly Scribe Caste of Gor meeting in the morning over at Lara. It was a smaller group today, but we covered some essential ground for the upcoming 3rd Scribe Summit scheduled for Earth September 25–27. Myriam provided updates on the lecture topics and mentioned she is planning an AI application course to show how it can tighten our work to the books. Kira raised a great topic idea about new students wanting to jump straight into being a magistrate without foundational knowledge, which gave us all a chuckle of agreement.
Later, caught up with Myriam about some backstory shifts on her end, and we touched on the ongoing frustration of people pushing for less strict book-adherence in lessons. It can feel like giving up sometimes when people complain about the filling in of unwritten elements, but I have to remember to stay tenacious.
Back at the house, Layla helped arrange the new barrels, though we hit our land impact limit and had to swap some things out to save prims—down to just one left! We discussed future teaching topics for Tuesday, and she suggested a "Day in the Life" series for different castes, which could be interesting if I can interview the right people.
Introduced Layla to the ongoing library organization project in Port Olni. The plan is to standardize the notecards by shifting dates and descriptions to the main body to preserve history and make titles cleaner for system searches. We'll start slow on it next week once she is fully mine. Eridain and Aisha popped into the library briefly; Eridain confirmed he will have the final ownership paperwork and price ready for Layla tomorrow.
In the evening, Layla brought me tea and fresh crusty bread from the markets before we headed over to watch the arena practice. Caught some impressive steelwork matches with Falconer, Jarek, Cid, and Dain, concluding with a grand warrior salute across the land. Wound down the night on the couch, enjoying the thick rugs, before heading upstairs to finish some reading.
To Do:
Finalize ownership paperwork and price for Layla with Eridain tomorrow.
Pick a starting topic for Tuesday's class and look into the book from my former teacher.
Re-do the price list.
Monitor the library notecard restructuring sample from Layla next week.
Check back with the market for a good stew bone and eggs for a future meal.
