A Quiet Day of Calendars, Class Schedules, and Preparations

 

Journal Entry — Monday, August 17, 2026

Locations: Olni, Olni Var, Turmus, and Summer Sun.

Much of my day was spent attending to the practical work behind my classes and discussion groups. During the early morning, I traveled between Olni and Olni Var, adjusting class notices, discussion signs, and calendar displays so upcoming lessons would be visible to anyone interested in attending.

Several boards updated successfully and displayed my upcoming classes, including lessons on the Administrator’s responsibilities, merchant weights and measures, paga tavern customs, the making of city law, merchant associations, travel papers, diplomatic relations, and river and sea merchants.

One calendar board, however, developed a problem when it could no longer locate its Google Calendar information. Other boards briefly displayed additional 2 p.m. classes alongside the usual noon and 4 p.m. sessions, so the schedule will need to be reviewed carefully to ensure the correct times are being shown.

Laela sent me a snapshot of Turmus during the morning, and later Falconer provided his weekly notice covering August 17 through August 23. I also shared several items while moving between Olni and Turmus.

The remainder of the day was quieter. Many familiar people were present or passed through the city, but there was little actual conversation recorded. Izzy briefly appeared with a playful “Booooooooooooooooo!” Shortly before evening, I visited Summer Sun and then returned to Turmus.

No formal class, court hearing, city meeting, or substantial role-play discussion appears in this record. The day was primarily devoted to organization, scheduling, and maintaining the displays that support my teaching.
