Journal Entry: March 31, 2026 Location: Ironheart Mood/Title: The Natural Order
Today was a significant day at the Station Academy. We delved into one of the most challenging topics for those new to our ways: "The Natural Order," specifically the roles of men and women within Gorean society. It is always a complex discussion, and I find that the Earth-born in attendance often struggle to reconcile their own notions of social dynamics with the reality of our world. We explored the essential dichotomy of our society: the Free Woman, shielded and respected on her pedestal, and the Kajira, who finds a different kind of freedom in the absolute surrender of the collar.
The discussion was spirited. While there were some initial tensions, particularly surrounding the stark reality of the hierarchy, I believe the lesson successfully illustrated that our structure is designed for harmony rather than conflict. I have tasked the students with a sociological observation assignment—to quietly witness and document the interactions between the Free and the Bound in public spaces—to help them see that this order is not merely a theory, but a practiced reality of our city.
Earlier in the day, I had an unexpected request from Vougan and Noria regarding a companionship contract. Unfortunately, the timing did not align with our academic schedule, and I had to defer their request for a later time. I look forward to assisting them when we can give the matter the proper attention it deserves.
To Do:
Review and grade the sociological observation reports once submitted.
Schedule a follow-up meeting with Vougan and Noria to finalize their companionship contract.
Finalize the welcome packet updates; ensure the library resources remain easy to navigate for new arrivals.
Take a moment of quiet; the pace of the Academy has been demanding, and clarity of mind is essential for the coming week’s work.
