A Moment of Respite and Reflection

Journal Entry: April 5, 2026 Location: Ironheart / Muddy's Music Cafe Mood/Title: A Moment of Respite and Reflection

Today has been a lighter day, allowing me to step away from the administrative intensity of the last week. I began with some quiet maintenance work, ensuring that all systems were running smoothly and checking on the state of the archives. It is a relief to have the primary organizational goals for the Station Academy met; the library files are finally stable and accessible, which should make the upcoming academic cycle much easier to manage.

Later in the day, I visited Muddy’s for their Easter party. It was a lively, colorful affair—a sharp contrast to the stern seriousness of the Academy’s lessons. There is something grounding about setting aside the quills and the scrolls to simply enjoy music and the company of others. Even in a world as structured as ours, these moments of levity are essential. I found myself appreciating the simple joy of the music and the festive atmosphere.

Returning to the calm of my own space afterward, I feel ready for the week ahead. The calendar is filling up with important discussions, and I am glad to have had this time to recharge.

To Do:

  • Finalize the lesson plan for the naval strategies lecture series.

  • Prepare the final lecture materials for the "War of the Thassa" session.

  • Touch base with the Scribe office to check for any updates regarding registration.

  • Continue the routine care of the begonias; the season is moving forward quickly, and they seem to be flourishing with the recent changes in weather.
