Systems and Connections

Journal Entry: April 3, 2026 Location: Ironheart Mood/Title: Systems and Connections

Today was dominated by a flurry of administrative testing. I spent much of the time refining the functionality of the "Evans Medieval mailbox" systems, ensuring that notecard submissions—whether they are inquiries or general correspondence—are captured reliably. After a few initial tests that required some adjustment to the script, I am confident that the mailboxes are now properly configured to notify me of new submissions. This will be invaluable for maintaining communication with the citizens and students of the Academy as we continue to grow.

I also shared a few moments with Odette Atheria, which was a pleasant break from the technical work. We found a shared appreciation for a certain style of dress and reflected on the changing layout of the scribe halls—it is interesting how a small change in location or the placement of a simple bench can shift the entire atmosphere of our workspace.

I have received a notification regarding a Free Woman’s dance opportunity at Isfahan's Festival on April 18. It sounds like a lovely endeavor, and I am considering how best to integrate this into my current schedule; Odette is coordinating the volunteers, and it would be a delightful way to represent our station.

To Do:

  • Finalize the organization of the incoming mail from the test phase.

  • Review the volunteer requirements for the dance at Isfahan's Festival and decide on participation.

  • Prepare the final lecture materials for next week’s naval strategy series.

  • Continue monitoring the begonias; ensure they remain hydrated through this cycle of changes.
