Journal Entry: April 21, 2026 Location: City of Lara / Fjord Title: Vigilance and the Cost of Honor
Today underscored the fragile nature of our current peace. As Father and I navigate these new lands, we are finding that the expectations of our clan often collide with the laxer, less disciplined practices of other groups. The incident with the individual who claimed to be a blacksmith yet spoke of himself as a guard—without even the decency to carry steel—was a jarring reminder of why we maintain our own standards. Father’s swift reaction was, to my mind, entirely appropriate; one does not simply claim the title of a warrior or a guard in Gor without the discipline to back it up. We are a people of the Silver Blade, and that requires an adherence to codes that go beyond mere appearance.
There is a restlessness in the air, and I suspect Father is planning further movements. The recent developments with the Tuchuk camp—and their subsequent disbandment—have clearly weighed on him. He operates with a long-term vision for the clan, and he is not a man to leave our safety or our reputation to chance. I am learning that my role, while focused on the Academy and my duties as a Magistrate, is inextricably linked to the broader security of our house. It is a dual life, but one I am growing into with more confidence.
I am also keeping a careful eye on the Academy’s transition here in Lara. It is early, but I am encouraged by the response so far. I am committed to making this College a place of learning that honors the traditions we value, even if I have to stand against the tide of those who prefer the easy path over the right one.
To Do:
Draft the formal announcement regarding the College’s change in leadership to provide clarity for any remaining students.
Organize the paperwork I have gathered from our recent travels; I want the archives in Lara to be as comprehensive as those I left behind.
Continue the care of the begonias; the consistent environment of the new home seems to be aiding their recovery.
Prepare for the upcoming week; the demands of the Academy and my responsibilities as a Magistrate require a sharp mind and clear focus.
