Journal Entry: 2026-05-07 Location: Port Talis / Olni Mood/Title: Complications, Collars, and Clarity
Today was a stark reminder of the complexities inherent in this world. The day began with a necessary, if difficult, lesson in discipline. The girl I had taken on trial proved completely unable to grasp the gravity of her position—she lacked the basic understanding of how to greet a free woman, let alone a master, and her persistent attempts to behave like an Earth housewife rather than a Gorean slave were ultimately untenable. After a final, failed attempt to instruct her properly, I reclaimed my collar. It was the only professional decision to make; one cannot build a serious household on "princess" attitudes. I have since blocked her, and I find a strange sense of relief in the silence.
The atmosphere in Port Talis has been equally turbulent. I have discovered that my father, Wind, has been barred from Olni, and the resulting OOC tension is palpable. I am finding myself caught between my commitment to my family and the realities of these Gorean city-states that seem increasingly eager to ban anyone who dares to play the "Old Gor" ways with true conviction. Izzy’s frustration with the current state of things—the laziness, the lack of honor, and the poor training of slaves in these "new" Gorean settlements—mirrors much of my own disappointment.
It is clear that the standards I was taught by Janette, and the ones my father upholds, are becoming a rarity. I am currently evaluating whether I should move my base of operations entirely or navigate this new territory with the caution it now demands. My father’s suggestion to keep this home as a "base of operations" while maintaining our true Fjord as our center is wise. If this place cannot respect us, we will simply be the shadow that haunts their gate.
To Do:
[ ] Take time to reflect on whether I want to continue investing in Port Talis, or if it is time to pivot back to more reliable lands.
[ ] Prepare to assist my father in his "ventures" should the local leadership continue to be difficult.
[ ] Continue searching for a slave who understands that Gor is not a game to be played by Earth rules, but a harsh reality to be mastered.
[ ] Check in with Jarek or other associates to gauge if the "ban" situation might evolve, though I suspect the current situation is static.
