Journal Entry: 2026-05-14 Location: Olni Var Mood/Title: Quiet Progress and Constant Vigilance
Today was a much-needed period of focus. The frantic energy of the last few days has subsided, allowing me to finally settle into the rhythms of my own home. I spent time organizing, ensuring that the living space feels not just habitable, but truly mine. There is something comforting in the routine—securing the doors, tidying the parlor, and simply having a place to retreat to when the social and political atmosphere of Olni becomes too abrasive.
I’ve had a few moments to step back from the direct confrontations and focus on the quiet work that truly matters to me: the preparation for my upcoming educational sessions. If the city leadership here is as precarious and ill-informed as it seems, then the work I’m doing—grounding our people in the actual Gorean laws and traditions—is more vital than ever. While others concern themselves with posturing and petty squabbles, I prefer to concern myself with the foundations. I am grateful for the few allies I have, particularly those who, like me, prefer to let their steel do the talking when words fall on deaf, or dishonorable, ears.
To Do:
[ ] Continue drafting the syllabus for "The Gates" and "Ink and Iron"—I want these sessions to be substantive, not merely superficial.
[ ] Keep my guard up. Recent events have shown that the security of one's own hearth is entirely one's own responsibility.
[ ] Monitor the city’s mood; if the current leadership remains unreliable or honorless, I need to have a clear exit strategy in mind.
[ ] Ensure the office space remains a sanctuary for study and planning—it is the one place where I have total control.
