Journal Entry: 2026-05-18 Location: Olni / Olni Var Mood/Title: The Weight of Expectations
Tonight was a reminder that within these walls and around the tavern fire, there is still a pocket of Gorean life that feels authentic. Discussing the intricacies of the Caste system, the administration of the North, and the nature of honor with Jarek, Falconer, and the others, I felt a familiar sense of belonging. It is a harsh, demanding world, and listening to Jarek recount the history of the Home Stone and the responsibilities of the High Jarl reinforced why I have dedicated so much of my life to the Magistrate and Scribe paths. There is a weight to these traditions—a gravity that some in these southern cities clearly fail to grasp.
I am pleased with the progress on the "Circle" project. Having a space to teach—and having men like Jarek and Falconer acknowledge the value of such work—makes the long, often tedious hours of preparation feel worthwhile. It is not merely about the classes; it is about ensuring that the next generation understands what true Gorean honor is, so that when we are gone, the rot of "Disney" roleplay and dishonorable conduct does not consume everything we have built. As I walked home through the darkness tonight, I felt a quiet strength. The petty slights of the day are nothing compared to the endurance of the code.
To Do:
[ ] Finalize the "Voice of Sadar" materials; the Initiates and Priest-Kings are delicate topics and must be handled with the utmost respect for lore.
[ ] Prepare the office in the new home; it needs to be ready for the students who will actually show up with the intent to learn, not just loiter.
[ ] Keep a strict eye on the household—discipline is the foundation of everything else.
[ ] Rest; the demands of the coming week require a clear and decisive mind.
