A Official Purchase and Late-Night Lore

Mood/Title: A Official Purchase and Late-Night Lore

Paid a visit to the Nile River region this morning to meet up with Carola. We found a lovely, quiet spot by the water to sit and chat about her upcoming Grand Merchant Fair in Turmus. She shared an informational scroll and mentioned her plans to run a class called Merchanting in Second Life: From Empty Stall to Thriving Shop, alongside various craft demonstrations and storytelling nights. We were briefly joined by Ubara Selia on her morning walk, though I steered the conversation away from my previous, less-than-pleasant stint living in Turmus. Carola later showed me her spice shop and the Free Woman's Dance Circle office before we parted ways.

By mid-morning, I was back in Olni to finalize business with Eridain. We met at the inn, where he presented the official intake papers, slave applications, and records for Layla. The purchase was officially concluded for 7 silver tarns. I took off her old collar and locked on my personal collar with my own seal, which felt wonderful. She handed over her Olni training belt as a trophy of her kennel graduation to be kept in my study. We also briefly discussed a potential apprentice on the horizon—a physician named Kara Mantha who is looking to change castes.

Later in the afternoon, Falconer took Layla, Libbi, a fish merchant named Kent, and me on an expansive tour of Olni. I saw the bank for the first time—good to know our coins are safe from theft there—and we walked the city walls all the way out to Shores to see Falconer's massive home at Callera Estates. He even showed us the marked doors and hidden safe rooms within the city walls to use during a raid. Layla and I made sure to stop by the bank chest afterward to deposit our gold and silver.

Wound down the night at the tavern over blackwine and mead with Falconer, Jarek, Libbi, Aisha, and Dain. Jarek confirmed he has the paperwork ready to approve Kara Mantha's caste change for our law studies mentorship. Falconer and I stayed up late sharing stories of old Gorean cities, discussing the historical role of Ubars and City Administrators, and exchanging notes on my past years spent in Svago, Fina, and Port Talis. Finally had to call it a night around 11:30 PM as the fatigue caught up with me.

To Do:

  • Place the new Olni training belt in the study with Layla's official records.

  • Purchase a beer tray for the house to have ready for visits from Father or his men.

  • Review the Turmus Merchant Fair scroll for scheduling events.

  • Review Kara Mantha's background scrolls once Jarek passes them along to plan her law training.

  • Check back with the Olni markets for that elusive soup bone.
