Journal Entry: June 10, 2026
Location: Port Olni / Var-Kor Library
Mood/Title: Scribe Castes, Incident Reports, and Class Preparations
The day began with official duties, as Trygg Tyran provided the transcript from the morning's Scribe Caste meeting. Shortly after, Sheena arrived to greet me, and our conversation was soon followed by a quiet wave of regional activity as travelers moved through the arena.
By early afternoon, Constable Balkan Sands arrived at my home office. Finding me deep in paperwork, he filed an official incident report directly into my mailbox regarding an altercation in the Olni tavern involving a forced veil removal and strip. Ubar Jarek SpiritWeaver stopped by a bit later, lowering his voice to discuss the very same incident. He confirmed he had directed Balkan to me, noting the suspect’s poor judgment and uncontrollable urges. I assured Jarek that as Magistrate, I would review the file thoroughly and handle the matter according to the law.
Later, I traveled to Var-Kor for the bi-weekly meeting of the Scribe Caste of Gor, held in Lady Myriam’s private office and archives. Trygg Tyran led the session with updates on the upcoming Scribe Summit for the feast of Se'Kara in September, distributed informational posters, and collected member surveys. I took the floor to announce that "The Circle" classes resume tomorrow, presenting our curriculum on Gorean law and medicine. Sabayna from Isfahan shared details about their upcoming En'Var Market and an intercultural conference titled "Homo Viator" planned for later this year. Despite a minor distraction involving a literal hole in the archives floor causing a few stumbles, the meeting was highly productive.
The evening was spent in the classroom preparing for tomorrow's "Ink and Iron" lessons. Kael Rhode popped in to visit, and we talked about his recent need for a quieter lifestyle after his former girl ran off to join a panther camp. Sheena joined us shortly after a brief connection failure due to her PC battery dying. Together with Kael, we finalized the visual props and tested the board textures. Once Kael departed, Sheena and I set out the seating cushions, posted the official class announcements, and ran through the morning setup. It is a relief to have the labor completed tonight so our students will find everything organized at dawn. Tired and satisfied with the day's heavy administrative load, I granted Sheena permission to kennel before retiring to bed myself.
To Do:
Review Constable Balkan Sands' incident report (IR: Incident removal of a veil forced strip/09/06/26) and determine appropriate magistrate action.
Conduct the morning (8 AM) and afternoon (4 PM) sessions of the "Ink and Iron" class for The Circle.
Follow up with Ubar Jarek SpiritWeaver once further documentation on the tavern incident is compiled.
Coordinate with Lady Myriam regarding formatting scheduling blocks or apprentices' topics for the Se'Kara Scribe Summit.
Monitor Sheena's availability for the afternoon class depending on her real-world schedule.
