Mood/Title: An Unexpected Conversation with a Silly Boy
I logged on early this morning to do a quick check on the property and ran a prim counter check through CasperLet—we are still sitting at 201 total prims used on the parcel, so I really must filter out those extra bits to get us safely back under the land impact threshold.
Later, while spending time near the porch, an unowned male slave named Shadow approached and caught my attention. Usually, I do not bother talking to kajirus, but the name instantly brought back memories of one of my favorite boys whom I gave that same name to some 18 years ago. We ended up having a rather long and interesting chat. It turns out he was originally a warrior captured four years ago during a raid in Port Kar before being sold into slavery. His previous owner disappeared from the world entirely, leaving him masterless.
When I questioned him about his time zone and background, he was a bit elusive at first, but finally admitted he lives in Scotland (SLT +7 hours) and has been in Gor for 16 years, having started around the same time as me back in 2010. He is an absolute giant—standing at 2.26 meters (around 6'6") compared to my small 5'2" frame. He cheekily remarked that he could easily pick me up, and I had to agree he would certainly make a solid wall between me and any incoming trouble. He told me he tries to follow the true Gorean ethos in real life as well, and when I commanded him to kneel, he obeyed respectfully. He noted my sign listing my office hours (4 am to 9 pm SLT) and mentioned he would be willing to stay and serve until I chose to sell him.
Falconer passed along his weekly schedule for the city, so I have a clear idea of what the town has planned through July 5th. No major updates from the rest of the city yet, though the arena group logged in for practice later in the morning. I spent the remainder of my time resting up and quietly gathering my thoughts for tomorrow's presentation.
Will have to put up the quill later when the day is through.....
