Mood/Title: Teaching "Slave Discipline" in Turmus & Thursday Games in Olni

Started the day in Turmus preparing for my lecture and gathering notes at the Educational Hall. Late morning, I joined Lady Odette, Willow, Sabayna, and Pionika for a Free Woman dance meeting. We caught up on dance troupe news, tried out Geisha fan dances from Abranimations, and discussed upcoming performances for the Sheen troupe at Isfahan and Thunder Mountain.

At 4:00 PM SLT, I hosted my class on "The Rights and Framework of Slave Discipline" in building #25. We had a wonderful turnout, including Ubara Selia, Advocate Aries, Slaver Nicholas Eel, ThunderBolt Kanto, and several kajirae. We covered the legal and cultural distinction between public city stock and private property, corrective protocols, hair shearing laws, and historical perspectives from John Norman's scrolls.

After class wrapped up, I headed over to Olni for Thursday game night with Lance. Brooke and Carmen joined us for a few lively rounds of Hand and Foot Canasta. We chatted about Olni life and upcoming Tuesday tavern dances before calling it a night.

• Purpose of Discipline:

  • Discipline maintains civic order and proper protocol; a slave's behavior reflects on the entire city and their owner's honor.

  • Correction is non-malicious and intended to restore alertness and deference.

• Public Stock vs. Private Property:

  • Public Stock: Any free citizen has the right to correct public city slaves immediately on the spot for protocol breaches.

  • Private Property: Free citizens may issue commands and deliver minor, non-damaging physical reminders (such as a reprimand or quick slap) to private slaves who fail to yield or show proper honorifics.

  • Property Restitution: Free citizens must never permanently injure, brand, or destroy another citizen's private property. Severe infractions must be handled by the owner or brought to the Magistrate's Court.

• Hair Shearing Laws:

  • It is strictly illegal under Gorean commercial law to cut a slave's hair without the owner's explicit permission, as hair represents substantial commercial asset value. Unauthorized shearing constitutes property destruction requiring full financial restitution.

• Graduated Correction Levels:

  • Minor: Verbal reprimand, slap, repeating protocol for missed greetings or posture slips.

  • Moderate: Temporary placement in public stocks or binding at the city gates for public disturbances or slacking on errands.
