A Moment of Reflection

Journal Entry: April 23, 2026 Location: City of Lara / Fjord Title: A Moment of Reflection

Today was defined by a quiet stability that I find increasingly necessary. After the anticipation of recent days, the return to the familiar rhythms of the Fjord and the work in Lara felt like a welcome relief. Having Father and the rest of the Silver Blades nearby, whether they are active in the region or simply present in spirit, provides a sense of continuity that I rely on more than I perhaps acknowledge. It is good to have music in the air again—the Celtic-Viking stream we’ve found adds a certain atmosphere to the long house, making the Fjord feel even more like the home we are intending to build.

I am continuing to settle into my role at the College, and while the transition remains a work in progress, I am finding that my commitment to the Academy is holding steady. There is a great deal of work ahead in establishing a curriculum that reflects the standards we demand, but I am invigorated by the challenge. It is not just about teaching, after all; it is about preservation. In a world where so many are quick to abandon the lore and the rigorous code of Gor in favor of modern convenience, the work we do here feels vital.

I’ve begun to prioritize the spaces where I can be most productive, and the library organization continues to be my sanctuary. There is something deeply satisfying about the process—taking the time to catalog, to sort, and to ensure that knowledge is preserved and accessible. It is a quiet, disciplined life, but it is mine, and I am grateful for it.

To Do:

  • Finalize the lecture materials for the naval history unit; I want the students to understand the strategic complexities of the Thassa.

  • Continue the cataloging process for the Academy library; maintain the organizational system that makes our archives reliable.

  • Inspect the begonias; ensure they are adapting to the new lighting in the library, as they are a small but significant part of my daily routine.

  • Prepare for the upcoming week’s academic schedule; I want to be thoroughly ahead of my planning to ensure nothing is left to chance.
