Professional Standards and Personal Connections

Journal Entry: April 24, 2026 Location: City of Lara / Fjord Title: Professional Standards and Personal Connections

The day began early, focused on the organizational demands of the Academy and the ongoing process of establishing our home in Lara. It is a peculiar experience, being in a position of authority yet constantly having to navigate the varying standards of others. I find that my commitment to the "By the Book" traditions of Gor is a standard I am unwilling to compromise on, regardless of the laxity one often finds in some of these newer settlements.

I spent a significant portion of the day consulting with Niran and others regarding the layout of the new Academy space. There is a great deal of work to do to bring it up to the level of functionality I expect—I want clear, efficient spaces for both instruction and administrative records. Later in the day, I had the opportunity to spend time with Father and Izzy. Their presence is a grounding force. We discussed not just the logistics of our living situation, but the nature of the people we encounter here. There was a fair amount of candid discussion regarding the standards of those around us—or, more accurately, the lack thereof—and while the discourse was blunt, it served to reaffirm why we operate as a family. We are not here to chase the approval of the "Disney" crowds who prioritize superficial appearances over genuine Gor; we are here to maintain our honor, our standards, and our legacy.

These conversations, as sharp as they can be, remind me that our loyalty to one another is the most valuable asset we have. I also find myself reflecting on the nature of these spaces; the transition from the bustling, often chaotic cities to the quiet, disciplined structure of the Fjord is a shift I find myself increasingly grateful for. I have my responsibilities, and I am meeting them with the diligence expected of a Magistrate, but I am equally focused on ensuring that my own household and those within my sphere are protected and properly guided.

To Do:

  • Finalize the furniture arrangement in the Academy and the new home; I want a space that allows for focused work and efficient instruction.

  • Draft the brochure for the Academy's facility and services; ensuring we have clear, professional communication is vital to attracting the right students.

  • Review the remaining notecards and records from the previous transition; I want the archives to be impeccable.

  • Continue the care of the begonias; keeping a living thing thriving is a small but important part of maintaining my own internal order.
